Exploring the Terroir of Australian Agave

When it comes to producing premium agave spirits, the terroir of the region where the agave is grown is of paramount importance. The soil, climate, and other environmental factors all play a role in shaping the unique character and flavour of the final product.

Australian agave spirits are unique in that they are grown in a terroir that is vastly different from the regions where traditional agave-based spirits such as tequila and mezcal are produced. The Dry Tropical regions of North Queensland are known for their rich soil and unique microclimate, which imparts a distinct and complex flavour profile to the agave grown there.

Our agave is grown on the Atherton Tablelands, where the volcanic soil and warm climate provide ideal conditions for the plants to thrive. The unique terroir of the region is reflected in the flavour profile of our spirits, which boast notes of honey, lime peel, fresh herbs, and mineral complexity.

We take great care in sourcing our agave from local farmers who use sustainable and ethical farming practices. This not only ensures the quality of the agave but also supports the local farming community.

We believe that the terroir of the region is as much a part of the spirit as the distillation process itself. By embracing and showcasing the unique characteristics of Australian agave, we are proud to offer a truly distinct and authentic spirit that represents the best of our land.
